Marree is a town located in South Australia, a point of intersection between two routes, the Oodnadatta Track and the Birdsville Track.

My suggestion:
If you're travelling by van, I suggest that you spend a night at Coward Springs before heading back to Marree. The shaded area is very pretty. You can also take a dip in a natural spa (full of sand)!
My review

Whilst travelling the Oodnadatta Track - a magnificent route in Australia - I stopped in this small town in the Outback. With a population of only sixty inhabitants, Marree feels like a ghost town !

To be honest, there isn't much to do in Marree other than having a drink in its traditional pub or taking photos of its two pretty red railway carriages, long abandoned. They belonged to The Ghan, the railway that still travels the length of Australia from south to north, but no longer stops here.

Upon leaving, you can see the Plane Henge sculptures, two planes erected in the sand, as well as the Giant Dingo. The Marree Man, on the other hand, who you will know doubt have heard of, can only be seen from the sky...

The old Ghan railway carriages, abandoned in Marree.
