Reviews of Karijini National Park

Karijini is a national park located in Western Australia's Hamersley range and lying 1,050 km north of Perth.

My suggestion:
The best ways to see the great expanses of Karijini are by hiring a 4x4 or taking part in an organised tour. Avoid coming here in summer.
My review

I really loved Karijini National Park, a veritable paradise of rocky terrain and vegetation. It's almost like a kind of oasis located right out in the middle of the bush. With its distinctive landscapes and scenery made up of gorges, canyons, waterfalls and natural rock pools, it has become one of the most popular places in Western Australia. In fact, at 6,274 km² it is actually Australia's second largest national park in terms of area, which means it has a wide range of hiking opportunities to offer.

However, do make sure you find out exactly what there is to see here so that you don't miss any of the hidden pearls that are only accessible with a guide. Warning: if you visit in summer, make sure you have plenty of food and water with you and avoid walking in the sun, even when it's not at its highest point.

Our favourite walks at Karijini are Hancock Gorge (do it in the company of a guide – thrills and excitement guaranteed!) and Weano Gorge (easily accessible). These are two of the park's best known sites. Also pay attention to the wonderful contrast created by the juxtaposition of rock and water when you're here. Depending on the time of day, you should be able to take some incredible photos.
