The National Park and forest are classed as UNESCO World Heritage sites.

My suggestion:
Don't stop in the village of Daintree, cross the river and go and explore the rainforest!
My review

Daintree is a small village where ther's no need to stop, apart from to get information from the tourist office! I recommend that you go directly to the National Park of the same name.

It's here where you can cross the Daintree River(which is packed full with crocodiles), to get to Cape Tribulation, one of the most northerly points that is still accessible in East Australia. Above all, don't miss this place during your trip to Australia. The tropical forest and the ocean meet there creating magnificent views.

On my way through the forest, I came across very beautiful beaches as far as the eye can see... but make sure not to get too close to the water as the crocodiles are very much present in this region as well as potentially deadly jellyfish, warning signs will not fail to remind you!

There are numerous walks that you can do in the region, for those who like to walk, and you could perhaps come across the famous cassowary, a rare and majestic bird... I saw it and it was impressive!
