Gochang is a little provincial town that has two points of interest - an ancient fortress and a dolmen site.

My suggestion:
Once there, it's hard to find information in English. Check out details such as bus times or ways to visit sites whilst you're in Jeonju or Gwangju.
My review

The Moyang fortress overlooks the town and is a fifteen minute walk from the railway station. Its ramparts were built in 1453 and are 1.6km long. Once inside the wall, I felt like I was in a park, with its bamboo forest, numerous trees and scattered buildings. The imposing entry gates remind the visitor that this was in fact a well protected, fortified construction.

On the hills around Gochang, at a 20 minute bus ride from the bus station, you'll find hundreds of prehistoric dolmens. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is difficult to reach, as there are few buses plus there's no tourist information in English
