<p>Having heard about Apo Island when I was visiting the Island of Siquijor, I was curious to see the volcanic gas emissions that have made the seabed here so famous.</p>
<p>It's relatively easy to reach Apo Island from Dumaguete: everyone in the area is familiar with it and knows how to get there.</p>
<p>If you are travelling on a limited budget, I recommend first taking a jeepney from Dumaguete to Malapatay (where a popular market is held on Wednesdays) then heading down to the shore to buy your boat tickets. There are a variety of options available at all kinds of prices (depending on the number of people travelling, the time of day, etc.).</p>
<p><strong>Apo Island is a very tranquil place where life is dictated by the rhythms of the sun</strong>. Its beaches are deserted, and the presence of all the boats is the only thing there is to remind you that the seabed is home to such natural marvels.</p>
