Head off to explore Cebu City and its multi-coloured jeepneys; they are worth the trip all on their own! Of course, there's much more to the island of Cebu itself than just that: sunshine, beaches extending as far as the eye can see, and the wonderfully adorable Filipino people.

My suggestion:
Cebu City isn't a particularly exceptional place, but it is still worth exploring, with its church and local markets, particularly enjoyable places to visit. However, the city serves mainly as the point of departure for excursions to Bohol and other islands in the vicinity.
My review

The thing I found most disappointing during my trip to the Philippines was the food: a dreadful mixture of American fast food and a type of Asian fusion. Though I may've simply been unlucky with each of the restaurants I tried, this is the Asian country that most disappointed me from a gastronomical point of view. Fortunately, it does have plenty of other wonderful things to offer. So I quickly learned to live with the fact that I wasn't going to eat all that well during the two weeks of my stay.

The most incredible memory I have of my stay on this Philippines island is that of my underwater diving trip! When I did it, I'd just completed the diving training course and was able to explore the seabed accompanied by a guide, exploring as deep as 60 feet! What I got to see was worthy of a National Geographic feature! You simply cannot imagine the whole universe down there until you've dived in and seen it for yourself! It's an experience of a lifetime, and one I recommend to everybody!
