I had the chance to make a quick stop in Molinopampa during my trip to Peru. This town doesn't have much that's interesting, so I recommend that you go to Chachapoyas instead, a few kilometres from there.
Situated more the 300km from Cajamarca, Chachapoyas is a lovely colonial town on the edge of the jungle of the Cordillera Oriental. Called the "Warriors of the Clouds", the Chachapoya community long resisted the Inca invasion and even made an alliance with the Spanish colonialists. This culture, unique to Peru, was blessed with weaving as well as ceramics.
Bordered by palm trees, Chachapoyas is a lovely Andean village, still preserved from the influx of tourists in comparison with other places like the floating islands or the famous Machu Picchu.
