Mancos is a tourist centre in Peru's Callejón de Huaylas valley that serves as the departure point for treks in the Cordillera Blanca mountain range and Huascarán National Park.

My suggestion:
The best time to go trekking in the Cordillera Blanca mountains is the period from May to September.
My review

Huaraz, in the Ancash Region of Peru, serves as the starting point for treks in the Cordillera Blanca mountain range and Huascarán National Park. Mancos, which lies around 50 kilometres away, is a smaller tourist centre that can also serve as a good base to start your trek from.

The Ancash Region contains Peru's highest summit, the 6,768-metre Nevado Husacarán in the Cordillera Blanca, a mountain range that carries the distinction of being the most tropical in the world and is home to around thirty summits over 6,000 metres high – a veritable paradise for hikers and trekkers.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Huascarán National Park contains a wealth of wonderful natural features such as lakes, glaciers, waterfalls and green, verdant valleys. A veritable climber's playground, it also has some beautiful trekking circuits to offer.

Enough to convince you? Then don't wait a minute longer and book your plane ticket for Peru right now!
