Spending your honeymoon in Laos

From north to south, Laos is an authentic country that will appeal to all couples, whether you're looking to unwind or explore the great outdoors. If you're planning the perfect honeymoon, this is a country that you should certainly consider!

The north of Laos, in the heart of Laotian culture

Laos may not have the idyllic beaches found in Thailand or Cambodia, but if you want a honeymoon like no other then this is the place to be. Imagine being at Vang Vieng, in the north of the country, alone in the middle of rice fields, surrounded by stunning mountains. A special moment in a heavenly landscape!

As for Luang Prabang , this town is a must for any traveller to Laos! The entire town centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and scattered with beautiful, ancient temples. There are two stunning hotels by the river, both of which are calm, romantic retreats.

The South of Laos, a place to unwind in the heart of nature

In the south of Laos, the 'Four Thousand Islands' region is a dream destination by the River Mekong and a perfect place for a relaxing honeymoon. There are loads of hotels that overlook the Mekong; imagine swinging gently in a hammock on a private balcony by the water's edge; this is Laotian life at its best! You can enjoy superb bike rides through the paddy fields, spend a day by a waterfall or stroll around the islands' villages. Don Khone is a quintessential island to visit and is linked to Don Det by a little bridge. This region is very touristy during the dry season, but if you go during the low season, you may well be the only tourists on the island - perfect for a romantic getaway !

Enjoy life along the River Mekong

This stunning river crosses Laos from north to south; a lush environment home to numerous communities. Nature lovers who want to spend their time outdoors will love taking a week's cruise along this river, which winds its way through a country where 90% of the territory is an untouched, natural paradise.
