Sigchos is an unpretentious little village at an altitude of 3,000 m, on the Quilotoa loop. A place worth considering if you are walking or trekking!

My suggestion:
If you can, try to get there on Sunday morning, which is market day. The market isn't as big as the one in Saquisili but it's just about the only thing to see in the village.
My review

I spent three weeks in Insibili, a village that's about an hour's drive from Sigchos. I had my first contact with Sigchos when I was on the road from Latacunga. Two hours driving past precipices on mountain roads in an old, jam packed bus hadn't been very reassuring!

The second time, I went back to Sigchos by car with the owners of the refuge where I was staying in Insibili. I went on Sunday, for the market. I arrived a bit late and the sellers were already starting to pack up but the town was still quite lively. I walked around. There was nothing much to see but the people watching was good! And the view of the mountains is nice.

Finally I went back there for a third time, after walking for 4 hours down from Insibili into the valley created by the Toachi river...before going all the way back up afterwards! For once I was with other tourists, instead of being alone, so it was nicer, and the walk is really beautiful.
