This traditional and authentic village, nicknamed the "Pearl of the Fjord", lies at Théophile Cove on the shores of Saguenay Fjord.

My suggestion:
Walk or drive up Sainte-Rose-du-Nord's highest local mountain and admire magnificent panoramic views over Saguenay Fjord.
My review

We spent a few hours in Sainte-Rose-du-Nord before continuing on to Lake Saint-Jean on a trip through the Canadian province of Quebec.

I found this village of 400 people, which lies nestling in green and verdant surroundings, genuinely charming, and the countryside around it is magnificent, with steep, forest-covered mountains and beneath them the still, calm waters of the fjord. The village has some lovely traditionally-styled houses and a pretty little white chapel that are sure to delight visitors. Sainte-Rose-du-Nord's only road leads gently down to the little harbour located below the village. When we were there, there was a large group of motorcyclists from all over the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region waiting to catch the ferry across Saguenay Fjord from Théophile Cove.

We also had the opportunity to admire wonderful panoramic views from the mountain located close by. We drove up as far as the car park, then from there you have to continue on foot to reach the cliff overlooking the village and the fjord. There are several other viewpoints also worth visiting, especially on the harbour side.

Sainte-Rose-du-Nord is a picturesque and warmly welcoming pearl of a village located on the banks of Saguenay Fjord.

My suggestion:
One of the things you absolutely must do when in Quebec is eat in one of the little local diners. And it just so happens there's an excellent one down by the quayside in Sainte-Rose-du-Nord. All the local fast-food classics are to be found inside the tiny wooden cabin in which it's housed.
My review

Sainte-Rose-Du-Nord has received the particularly flattering complement of being officially recognised as one of the most beautiful villages in Quebec! The scenery around it is simply breathtaking, especially the views out over Saguenay Fjord.

There are some beautiful walks to go on from the village itself. These give you the opportunity to see the fjord and its unique scenery from different perspectives.

Whether it's the outdoors, culture or heritage, this little community has plenty to attract tourists. I'm personally a fan of the great outdoors and I especially enjoyed the kayak trip I went on. I can still bring to mind pleasant, gentle memories of those few hours I spent paddling the calm, flat waters of the fjordduring my stay in this region of French Canada.
