Trois-Pistoles is a charming small town in Bas-Saint-Laurent on the banks of the Saint Laurent river.

My suggestion:
And while you are staying in the area why not try the excellent beer from the Unibroue micro-brewery: Trois-Pistoles. The beer's strong malty flavour is loved by everyone in the province and you can buy it everywhere.
My review

As it is very close to my birth town, I've often been to Trois Pistoles. You mostly go there to get the best cheese curd in Quebec, which is an essential ingredient in poutine. The Fromage des Basques (a cheese) which you can get at the cheese shop of the same name really squeaks when you bite into it! Which is an essential sign when you are looking for a good quality cheese so you can really enjoy this typically Quebecois dish.

The town is very small but very charming. Going towards Gaspésie the river gets larger on its way to the sea. It's a sight you never get tired of, even when you come from the region. People also say that the region of Bas Saint Laurent, which is an interesting place to go to during a visit to French speaking Canada, has the most beautiful sunsets in Quebec.
