Ngwe Saung (Myanmar)

We really enjoyed the amazing sights between Chaung Tha and Ngwe Saung, before finally arriving at this huge beach. The difference between here and Chaung Tha was immediately apparent. This beach is designed for beach lovers and visitors wanting to relax. In fact, there's not a lot at Ngwe Saung, except for all the hotels that line the coast.

Several restaurants are grouped in the center of the beach at Ngwe Saung, so you can eat with your feet in the sand and lie back in front of the sea view. Unfortunately, the choice was limited (and our time too), but I was happy to stop for a refreshing drink. It has to be said that, just like in the rest of this area, everyone uses motorbikes to go from one end of the beach to the other. The main attraction is a little temple, perched on a tiny peninsula, otherwise you can go snorkeling off an island a bit further away.

I wasn't particularly impressed by the place, so when it came to deciding whether to stop over or not, I was pleased that we chose to stay at Chaung Tha - much better atmosphere and scenery.
