Over 1,000 pagodas stretch out all around you, as far as the eye can see. A must-see if you're on a visit to Inle Lake.

My suggestion:
A sheltered slope about half a mile long and lined with boutiques leads to the pagoda. If you wish to avoid the shops, you can take another track climbing up the side of the hill, amidst the stupas and pagodas.
My review
A very pleasant boat ride gets you to the site. Inle Lake is a truly magnificent and magical place. You must absolutely stop there during your stay in Burma, and Indein village is one of its major attractions. Indein really feels like a place beyond time.

Don't hesitate to step into some of the pagodas, where you will discover magnificent statues of Buddha. Some of them have been pillaged, but others still abound with treasure for those who know how to find it.

The place is really amazing, with its hundreds of temples, pagodas and stupas - some in good condition, others not - seeming to sprout up like mushrooms in this place where nature and the jungle are doing a pretty good job reclaiming the land. Plunging into the stream of time.
