Situated less than half an hour away from Jericoacoara (12km), Préa is for sports lovers and families looking for peace and quiet.

My suggestion:
If you're a kite surfer coming to Préa, the best time of year is from July to December. If you're just hoping to unwind, then anytime of year will do.
My review

Calmer than neighboring Jericoacoara, Préa's beach has seen some 'pousadas' spring up. But even so, it's a well preserved place where you can walk along fine, sandy beaches or follow coconut tree-lined paths. I can recommend Préa to those of you who want to switch off and get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. And if you're after a buzzing nightlife? Give Préa a miss, it's not for you.

Préa has similar acitivites to Jericoacoara - trips on buggies to lagoons or Tatajuba, horse back riding and, of course, kite surfing. Préa has a number of its own kite surf schools.

As the sea is quite rough and if you're after something calmer, think about staying at a pousada or renting a house with its own pool.
