Calmer than neighboring Jericoacoara, Préa's beach has seen some 'pousadas' spring up. But even so, it's a well preserved place where you can walk along fine, sandy beaches or follow coconut tree-lined paths. I can recommend Préa to those of you who want to switch off and get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. And if you're after a buzzing nightlife? Give Préa a miss, it's not for you.
Préa has similar acitivites to Jericoacoara - trips on buggies to lagoons or Tatajuba, horse back riding and, of course, kite surfing. Préa has a number of its own kite surf schools.
As the sea is quite rough and if you're after something calmer, think about staying at a pousada or renting a house with its own pool.
