The best time to travel in Armenia

In order to be able to enjoy good weather, it's best to travel to Armenia during autumn. However, if you plan to spend time in the mountains, summer's the best time (at the risk of being a little chilly!)

The best time to go to Armenia is during Autumn: it's not too hot or too cold, it doesn't rain and the days are long. Avoid going during the summer if you can't stand the heat, and the winters can be quite cold as well. During spring, flowers bloom everywhere but it's also always raining, so having a great trip is a question of luck!

Armenia is well-known for its monasteries. The Monastery of Geghard is not to be missed, along with the surrounding trees. There's a tradition of making a wish, then wrapping a strip of cloth around one of these trees. The Tatev Monastery is also quite well-known. It's classified as a heritage site by UNESCO and it offers an amazing view of Vorotan Canyon and the peaks of Karabakh. Finally, you can choose to climb Mount Aragats, the highest in Armenia. It's best to travel in summer or autumn.
