The hardy vegetation of Oulad Driss looks striking against the surrounding aridity and the chaotic piles of black rocks. Desert men in blue garb come here to relax before heading to Mhamid, a few kilometres from the palm grove, to stock up on supplies. Oulad Driss is an authentic palm grove that I would advise you to visit during your <a href="/morocco/">Moroccan holiday</a>. I enjoyed seeing the traditional huts in Oulad Driss, and its kasbah, perched on a narrow peak. I'd suggest a visit to the 'traditional house': it's a little private museum with a collection of Berber objects, such as pretty scarves, with their unique geometrical patterns. From there, you can head to Mhamid, the last administrative centre in the valley, a few kilometres from the Algerian borders and the Chigaga sand dunes.
