You will love walking in Tata, during your next <a href="/morocco/">trip to Morocco</a>. If you like lively towns then go out at the end of the afternoon - the temperatures are milder and there are lots of people walking around town. You can hear a lot of Berber spoken in Tata, more than Arabic. The population is mostly made up of Shluh people (Berbers from the south).  Tata palm grove alone is worth spending several hours in. I also recommend you visit the old kasbah (in the old, red brick, fortified area). Nowadays the kasbah has been converted into a very grand guesthouse. From Tata you can go on excursions, especially for exploring the ksour of the beautiful Akka oasis and the Om el-Alek rock carvings in the desert.
