Batuan is a village on the island of Bali that's known for its culture and artwork, notably paintings and dance. There are also temples close by.

My suggestion:
Plan what you want to see, as there's a lot to do in the region.
My review

Batuan is a little village close to Ubud that's worth visiting for a day or two. Firstly, I loved the imposing statue of Buddha that stands guard at the entrance to the village; it's called The Fat Baby Statue!

In this quiet, authentic village you'll find a multitude of art galleries, where you'll see works painted in a style that originated in Batuan. The island of Bali is known for its many different art styles.

Close to Batuan there's a zoo, spa and two Hindu temples - something for the entire family.

What's more, every 210 days the village hosts the Galungan festival. During the celebrations, people dance, play music and make decorations and votive offerings. It's a bit like Christmas!
