Rantepao is the main centre of the north of Toraja country.

My suggestion:
I recommend that you go right to the top of Batutumonga. The view from up there is sublime!
My review

If there were only one place where you ought to go in Sulawesi, to me it would be here. As you climb up to the heights of Rantepao, you will discover terraced rice paddies as far as the eye can see! Sublime. And yet, I have seen tons of rice paddies in Indonesia! However, ones like those you will see as you walk around: never!

What is more, all along the way you will get a chance to see Toraja houses with their atypical architecture.

What about the Sulawesians in all this? So warm and friendly!

A wonderful souvenir that I hope you have as well! Rantepao is the ideal place if you wish to mix culture and nature.
