Awash National Park is the dream location for discovering Ethiopia's animals and landscapes.

My suggestion:
A must-see destination, but beware of the heat and don't be caught out.
My review

Awash National Park is an interesting destination as there's something for everyone. You can go for a drive in the savannah and see camels, oryxes and gazelles, or go on foot and get close to monkeys, birds and tortoises.

You can journey to the top of Fentale Volcano (as long as you have good walking shoes) to admire the view of the crater and the region. Please be wary of the heat. I'd advise you to leave very early in the morning (not like us!) so that you're not walking in the blazing sun.

You can also bathe in the hot springs of Filouha, on the plateau, and admire the waterfalls in the neighbouring canyon. If you look closely, you'll see crocodiles sunbathing on the rocks at the foot of these waterfalls. In addition, you can drop down to the edge of the water and walk along the river, but be careful.
