Palomino is a small Colombian town lying at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains on Colombia's Caribbean coast.

My suggestion:
Try to get accommodation right down next to the sea. Though it will mean you're away from the town centre, you'll be able to enjoy the beach whenever you like. It's a decision you definitely won't regret!
My review

Palomino is a veritable little piece of heaven on earth and definitely a place to add to your Colombia itinerary if you want to spend a little time just relaxing and taking things easy.

I'm not a big fan of the beach, but I did want to at least take a peak at the Caribbean coast, and preferably by visiting somewhere well away from the crowds. It's for this reason I ended up choosing Palomino: a very quiet, peaceful little town lying just outside Tayrona National Park and where it's not unusual to find you have the long white sandy beach all to yourself.

The drawback is that there are very strong currents in the sea, which makes swimming and bathing difficult, unless you happen to have a pool at your hotel that is. In fact what I did was spend long hours on the beach with my head buried in a book!
