Surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, Múcura is one of two islands in the San Bernardo Archipelago. Situated fifty or so kilometres from Cartagena, this little piece of paradise can be easily reached by boat. Depending upon how choppy the sea is, the trip across takes between an hour and a half and two hours.
And once you've arrived, you'll be able to put your worries aside and enjoy the calm this island has to offer. The white sandy beach is not littered with tourists or annoying beach peddlers, but rather lined with palms and little straw parasols under which you can laze whilst gazing out to the Caribbean Sea. Múcura Island is a picture postcard! Here, you can do as you please...enjoy a game of beach volley ball after a dip in the warm sea or simply top up your tan with your nose in a good book. But the island's biggest selling point is its superb coral reef. So dig out your flippers and snorkel and explore the stunning coralsin the RosarioandSan Bernardo National Park! You'll be able to spot multi-coloured tropical fish and sea turtles in the clear waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Múcura Island is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It's a must during a trip to Colombia. So what are you waiting for?
