Located in Inner Mongolia, on the road between Zhangye and Wuwei, Alxa Youqi is the gateway to the famous Badain Jaran Desert, the third largest in China with an area of 49,000 square kilometers.

My review

It's an ideal base for taking trips into the surrounding area.

An enormous choice of different adventures and sights to see will awaken your adventurous spirit: trips on the back of a camel or in a 4x4, or visits to salt-water lakes inhabited by fish and ducks, as well as treks in the desert... You can even spend a night in a bivouac As for cultural visits, the tombs of Xi Xia, the Palace of King Aixa and rock carvings are worth going out of your way for.

To continue your journey, head for Wuwei, the Silk Road. Not to be missed: the Confucian Temple and the Tomb of Leitai from the Han Dynasty.
