The water town of Wuzhen is situated to the north of Zhejiang Province, close to Tongxiang, at the heart of the Hangzhou, Shanghai, Najing triangle.

My review

Dating back over a thousand years, this charming, ancient city was built on a series of canals fed by the Grand Canal that links Hangzhou to Peking.

To fully appreciate its ambiance, take the time to wander its paved streets and saunter along the banks of its canals. Its old houses and historic remains are dotted around alleys and bridges. When the sun sets, there's nothing better than a canal tour by gondola or small boat.

Loved by Chinese tourists, Wuzhen is attracting more foreign visitors and is becoming a must-see during tours around southeast China. Go there sooner rather than later, whilst its authentic charm is still in tact!
