Lugu Lake, which lies at an altitude of 2,685 m on the border between Yunnan and Sichuan, is 40 meters deep and 48 square kilometers in area.

My suggestion:
Be sure not to miss the Musuo Folk Museum, near the village of Luoshi. It contains a collection of photos of the region taken by Joseph Rock in the 1920s.
My review

There are more than twenty Tibetan, Yi and Mosuo villages located around the lake. The latter of these ethnic groups has one of the world's few matriarchal societies, which is famous for its "walking marriages". There is basically no such thing as monogamy in their society, and Mosuo men only visit their companions at night, returning to their own homes at daybreak. Mosuo women play the central role in the family and the children are raised by their mother and maternal uncles.

Lugu Lake contains three islands and these are referred to by the locals as the "fabled abode of immortals", so impressive is their beauty to visitors. The lake's translucent waters and the forests around it make the area a haven of peace, calmness and serenity.

There are various activities for you to do there, such as boat trips and cycle rides around the lake's banks. And not far away, in the village of Yongning, there is the Tibetan monastery of Zhamei to visit.
