Eryuan (China)

Its shimmering waters are a precious resource for the 23 different communities along its banks. The biggest are the Bai, Yi, Hui, Dai and Lisu.

Eryuan county is a rural region of rice terraces and fishing, characterized by green plains and vast stretches of water with a background of mountain reliefs. The plateau's fertility encourages the culture of orchids and orchards.

Simple but unusual, Eryuan's countryside is divided into four main areas: Lake Xihu, Lake Cibi, Lake Haixihai and Niaodiaoshan mountain. If you are staying in the area you should also visit the temples of Dali and the sublime Lake Ehrai.
