In Longsheng county, in the north of Guanxi autonomous region, the rice terraces of Jinkeng and Ping'an together make up the famous Longji rice terraces.

My review

Jinkeng, which means "golden basin" is a group of five villages: Dazhai (the biggest and most interesting), Tiantou, Zhuangjie, Xincun and Xiaozhai.

Jinkeng is somewhere you have to visit when you are staying in and around Guilin. To do: immerse yourself in the Red Yao culture - this nickname comes from the women's traditional costume - and breathtaking mountain landscapes and rice terraces. From Dazhai a pretty 3 to 5 hour walk brings you to the charming village of Ping'an. It's best to go with a local guide who will know where to find the the most beautiful views.
