Longji, the literal meaning of which is "Dragon's Backbone", is the name given to the spectacular terraced rice fields of Longsheng County, in the north of Guangxi.

My review

Among the most beautiful in the world, they are a veritable paradise for visitors in search of nature, cultural immersion and unforgettable hiking.

The area known as Longji is composed of several villages inhabited by various ethnic groups, especially the Zhuang and the Yao. The most famous rice fields are those of Ping'an, which are the oldest and most visited, and those of Jinkeng (Dazhai), which are stunning and a little more peaceful. You need to buy a ticket to enter the area (there are three different entrances), but the spectacle is worth it! The appearance of the rice fields changes throughout the year, with the play of light transforming the scenery with each new season.

Take advantage of your trip to Longji to go hiking, either on your own or in the company of a local guide. It will give you the opportunity to roam around the rice fields and to properly visit and explore the hilltop villages and meet their inhabitants.
