Located to the north of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the south of China, Longsheng County is the stronghold of the Zhuang, Yao, Dong and Miao ethnic groups.

My review

Famous for its many terraced rice fields – those of Longji (which means "Dragon's Backbone") are some of the most beautiful in the world – Longsheng County is a veritable playground for fans of nature, hiking and cultural immersion.

During your trip you'll undoubtedly end up visiting the Longsheng Hot Springs, located along the Ailing River. Their pure, hot waters are considered to have supernatural properties by the locals. The Huaping Nature Reserve, a veritable paradise for fauna and flora, is also worth a trip to see.

Take the time to explore the traditional hill villages located in the county, where you can meet the local ethnic groups and learn about their traditions and secret buildings. Hiking enthusiasts can even go on a walk from village to village, accompanied by a local guide.
