Leigongshan, which literally means "Thunder Mountain", is an exceptional natural site in the south-east of Guizhou province, only a few kilometers from Kaili, the capital of the autonomous prefecture of Qiandongnan.

My review

Leigongshan reserve and forest park is a natural fortress which shelters an extremely rich flora and fauna.

The mountainous countryside of Leigongshan is a wonderful playground for those who like to trek. Treks of varying levels of difficulty meander through the rice terraces on their way to the Miao villages which are scattered over the site, whilst the ascent ofMount Leigong, the highest point of Leigongshan (2,179 m), is reserved for the hardiest. The latter, the 6th highest mountain in China, owes its name to a Miao legend which said it was the home of the God of Thunder.
