The Three Gorges Damn is the world's biggest power station, spreading over more than 2 km. It was very controversial because of its ecological impact. It is also the biggest construction project since the Great Wall of China.
My review
Those who love feats of engineering will be impressed by the structure, while the nature lovers will appreciate the beauty of the Three Gorges, called Qutang, Wu, and Xiling. This unique natural site has received the National Tourism Administration's most prestigious landscape classification.
It's best to choose a guided cruise down this green canyon to admire the gorges. The ideal base camp is Sandouping, a town on the southern bank of the Yangtze river. While there you can visit Huangling temple, nestling majestically between the hills and on the waterfront.
