The Yangtze River (AKA the Yangtse/Yangzi or Long River) is the third largest river in the world, just pipped to post by the Amazon and the Nile.

My review

The source of this legendary river is in Tibet and it flows through several provinces and regions before reaching the China Sea. Along its way, it crosses some incredible landscapes as well as traditional villages and sprawling cities. If you're not pressed for time during your trip to China, I highly recommend you spend several days going down the Yangtze River.

Taking a cruise along the Yangtze River is something you'll never forget. A popular route goes through the Three Gorges, which stretches between Chonquing and Yichang , as well as taking in the Qutang, Wu and Xiling Gorges. It's an awesome landscape, punctuated by cultural stopoffs and climaxes with the arrival at the immense Three Gorges Dam You can also carry on to Juijang, Nankin or even Shanghai. The terrain is flatter, but you'll cross numerous picturesque villages.
