Xingping (China)

Whereas tourism has somewhat tarnished the charm of its neighbor, Yangshuo, the market town of Xingping has kept a sleepy, authentic flavor. A breath of fresh air!

Make sure you head up the Lao Zhai Shan mountain, to catch an amazing view over Xingping, with its surrounding peaks and ridges. The fishing harbor, is picturesque - well preserved, old houses and the sight of cormorant fishermen going about their daily business.

Not far from Xingping, you'll find the Lotus Cave and the quiet village of Dahebei. Xingping is also a good departure point for hikes along Li River, as well as through its wonderful, local scenery.
