Constituting one of the stages of the famous Swedish walking trail, the Kungsleden, Alesjaure is a place of incredible beauty: hikers will be able to soak in its boundless views of lakes, mountains and tundra.

My suggestion:
Alesjaure is only accessible on foot, and it takes around 2 days to hike to a main road. Don't forget to bring appropriate equipment and enough food supplies!
My review

Alesjaure is situated in the far north, above the Artic Circle, in Swedish Lapland, next to the lake named after the place. It's generally possible to camp there, depending on Swedish law, or you could opt for the comfort of the STF huts. Many hikers on the most famous trail in the country, the Kungsleden, make a stop at Alesjaure. From there, it's two days' march through the mountains to Abisko.

I had a unique feeling of freedom when walking around Alesjaure, and I'd recommend that everyone experience it at least once.

However, given that you can only reach the place on foot, don't consider it an indispensable part of your trip to Sweden. For all fans of hiking and trekking, however, Alesjaure is a dream come true.
