Ritsem is located at the end of a road from Gällivare that runs along the edge of the beautiful Lake Akkajaure. The STF Mountain Hut serves as a base camp for hikers getting ready to take on the neighbouring national parks.

My suggestion:
Coming to Ritsem is a good idea if you want to explore Lake Akkajaure by ferry or to do some trekking in the nearby national parks. If not, there's not much to see or do there.
My review

Ritsem is a tiny village. It's a transition stop when heading towards Padjelantaleden, Sarek National Park or even when exploring Lake Akkajaure. The STF Mountain Hut may be a good place to sleep with a view of the lake and Mount Akka.

On a windy day, I went to Ritsem while waiting to take a bus to Gällivare after 7 days of walking on the Padjelantaleden. There was little to do, other than fishing. A Sami camp is located nearby, but there's nothing related to tourism there. By contrast, the entire route from Gällivare is wonderful, looking towards the shores of Lake Akkajaure with towering mountains as a backdrop.

Without a doubt, it is the only other interesting thing that I found in Ritsem, a village which seems unnecessary in my opinion on a trip to Sweden.
