An important city in southeastern Poland, on the road between Krakow and Lviv, Tarnow has a lovely medieval centre with tourist passageways.

My suggestion:
Tarnow Ethnographic Museum has a fairly interesting exhibition on the culture of the Roma people, who live in Tarnow in a relatively significant number.
My review

Tarnow is a medium-sized city with approximately 120,000 inhabitants and I enjoyed spending some time there. Besides being off the beaten tracks, the city offers a more relaxed atmosphere than its neighbour, Krakow, whilst its small, oval-shaped, historic centre is a pleasure for the eyes. I would, therefore, recommend stopping at Tarnow for one or two days, just to make the most of a relaxing break in a beautiful and historic Polish city.

However, I have to admit that the city sometimes lacks a little life; it's fairly hard to believe that at the beginning of the last century, Tarnow was a large, commercial and dynamic industrial city which included several commuities (more than 40% Jewish), of numerous Roma, Germans, Ruthenes, etc., who lived side by side...
