For those of you who've never visited the Philippines, the first thing you'll notice upon arriving in Davao is the chaos and heavy traffic - quite a stressful experience. Even so, this town hasn't changed since it was founded. <a href="/philippines/">Mindanao </a> is the region's melting pot - Spanish, Aboriginals...
Perhaps its most famous attraction is the Crocodile Park, to the north of town. Here you can see crocodiles in the open air and it's a great place to take your kids. On a personal note, the best thing about Davao was strolling around town and seeing how tourism was beginning to take hold.
If you're a diving fan, you'll find some incredible dive sites, such as Alona Beach, on the outskirts of Davao.
