Would you like to spend a few days on a small island, combining relaxation, meeting new people and diving? Mabul is an ideal destination that combines all these.

My suggestion:
I think it would be a pity to spend only one day there, even more so as you have to pay for the boat crossing. It is better to take advantage of the transport/accommodation packages offered by some companies to get the best deal.
My review

It is always a very pleasant experience to spend a few days on a small island. In Mabul, my days went like this: breakfast on a terrace with views of the sea, early morning snorkelling to meet the turtles, walking with friends around the island or in the mini-forest of coconut palms, and relaxing before enjoying a delicious cocktail at sunset.

That is what your day might be like on the pleasant island of Mabul, located only about thirty minutes from Semporna. Scuba divers will not hesitate to top off the programme with a few macro dives, which are a speciality of the island. In addition, given its nearby location, an excursion to the very famous spot of Sipadan is quite possible in half the time it takes from Semporna.

A destination to consider for a relaxing stay on the hot sand, accessible both to those on a healthy budget or backpackers.
