I really appreciated the moments I spent in this jungle. The Belum forest reserve is one of the oldest in the world, with an estimated age of 130 million years, which is older than the Amazon Rainforest. A part of this forest was declared a national park and from then on, a third of it has been protected. The rest is taken over by deforestation, mainly to build accommodation.
In this forest, there is also a lake that measure 15,000 hectares and which contains around a hundred islands. You can hire houses on the lake to make the most of the unique jungle experience.
There are plenty of possible activities, like trekking, kayaking, boats, fishing... You can see the waterfalls, listen to the wild animals and take in the incredible plant life. All of your senses will be fulfilled!
In conclusion, an unmissable place, not far from Kuala Lumpur.
