The fortified city of Bikaner is located at the heart of the Rajasthan Desert on the Jaisalmer Road.
My suggestion
Go and see the Bikaner school of painting, which is famous throughout India.

The fortified city of Bikaner stands in the north of Rajasthan. Tourists know it for its fort and the inhabitants of the Thar Desert know it as the place that hosts the camel festival at the beginning of January.
My suggestion
Try the pastries at the market and take a trip to explore Deshnoke, a village 30 kilometers south of Bikaner, and its temple, where rats are revered. It's guaranteed to give you the shivers!

Located in the very north of Rajasthan, Bikaner does not possess the same charm as the other cities in the region. The city lies in the Thar Desert and the only advantage it offers is that it is close to Deshnoke yet not overly touristy.
My suggestion
A camel festival takes place in January each year, with races and various other activities organized.
In the local dialect, "Apani Dhani" means "Our Hamlet", an affectionate name given to the place by Ramesh C. Jangid, founder of the ecolodge and a pioneer of a form of militant tourism in India, especially in Rajasthan and his own native region of Nawalgarh.
For a lot of travelers in India, New Delhi is the capital of everything that they need to get away from as quickly as possible. Nevertheless, the town has some wonderful secrets that I would like to share with you.
