Chabano is a small village in the Tianeti area, in the Sagami valley, on the southern foothills of the Great Caucasus.

My suggestion:
Go up the Sagami valley on foot to climb up Mount Mukjati (2042m) which separates the Ertso-Tianeti and Kakheti valleys.
My review

Beyond Tianeti, the large lori valley disappears in favour of narrower valleys which rapidly give way to the high mountain. The villages are spaced out equally and the landscape becomes more wild.

At 6km from Tianeti in the Sagami valley, a tributary of the lori, Chabano guards the entrance to the high valley which offers beautiful views towards the summits of the Kakheti range. The village doesn't have anything particularly distinctive about it. Chabano is a typical Georgian village in the middle of the mountain laid out on a small portion of the valley, with less than a hundred houses and some 250 inhabitants.

If the village doesn't grab your attention, the charming valley with its lovely river descending from the high slopes, with beautiful colours in spring, summer and autumn, and views over the summits surely will. It's a couple of hours' walk to reach Mount Mukhati, at the end of the valley, which will repay you with superb views over the Ertso-Tianeti and Kakheti valleys.
