Also known as Hito Cajón, Portezuelo del Cajón is a border crossing between Bolivia and Chile.

My suggestion:
If you are planning to enter Chile with coca leaves on your person, get rid of them before crossing the border. You are not allowed to take them into Chile.
My review

At an altitude of 14,724ft, Portezuelo de Cajón is a mountain pass on the border between Bolivia and Chile. It's famous for being the highest border crossing in the world.

I passed through Portezuelo del Cajón (also known as Hito Cajón) after visiting the Salar d'Uyuni salt flat and the provinces of Nor Lípez and Sur Lípez in Bolivia. We actually stopped atin the town of San Pedro de Atacama in Chile, which is just an hour from the border.

The Bolivian side of Portezuelo del Cajón is located at the heart of the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve, where the famous lakes Laguna Verde and Laguna Colorada can be found. It's really worth a visit before leaving Bolivia behind and heading for what is quite frankly a whole different world. Welcome to Chile!
