Just 45 minutes to the north of La Paz by car is Laguna Pampalarama, a mountain lake located at an altitude of 14,100ft. The lake is surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Cordillera Real, and there are various outdoor activities you can do both in and around it: cycling and horse riding, sailing, fishing, rock climbing … Simply choose whichever activity you are most interested in doing!
This beautiful place is also home to a hostel specialising in ecotourism, and which belongs to Chacaltaya's indigenous community.
