Alota is a small village located in the region of Potosí.

My suggestion:
If you suffer from altitude sickness, try an infusion made from coca leaves. This is completely legal in Bolivia.
My review

Sat over 3,800 metres above sea level, Alota is a Bolivian village located in the region of Potosí, 145km from Uyuni.

On our last day of travel in our jeep to the outskirts of Salar de Uyuni in the south west of Bolivia, our local guide took us to the village of Alota. With its dirt roads, colourful cottages, and colonial-inspired church, Alota has all the typical elements of an Andean hamlet in Bolivia. The 500 inhabitants of Alota predominantly make a living from agriculture, crafts and tourism.

After spending 4 days exploring the natural wonders of Bolivia, with its multicoloured lagoons, salt flats and vast desert expanses, Alota gently marked our return to "civilisation".
