The formalities to complete for Armenia

In fact there aren't many formalities to complete before your trip to Armenia but you need to be careful to fulfil the few that there are.

Before you go

So that your trip to Armenia can be well planned, and so that you can enter the country, you need to have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months after the end of your trip. - The good news is that since January 2013 you no longer need a visa if your trip is for less than 90 days. You can even stay longer than 90 days without a visa if you register with the OVIR in Yerevan. - - - - -

There are no obligatory vaccinations for going to Armenia but it is recommended that you get vaccinated against Hepatitis A, rabies and meningitis A and C .

In Armenia

While there

- - - - Be careful about Nagorno Karabakh. The British Government advises against visiting the area and the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan is closed.

If you intend to rent a car in Armenia so you can travel freely, at your own pace, then be aware that some rental companies require an international driving licence. It's easily obtained from The Post Office.
