It was when I arrived in Chame that I really had the feeling like I was starting the trek in the Annapurnas, even though it had already been several days since the walk had started. That day my spirit was several times dampened by the rain... which allowed me to stop off for a long, and extremely pleasant, time in Koto (just next to Chame). After a breakfast around the campfire, we swapped the walk for a few hours watching a wrestling match on TV with all of the members of the family who ran the restaurant. It was unexpected and fun, almost one of my best memories of the walk.
The village of Chame is the first one after the road suitable for cars stops, or at least where it's no longer as visible. The way leading there seemed quite flowery but I have to admit that I couldn't see a great deal as the curtain of rain was a bit blinding. Once there you'll find a good number of places to sleep and to recuperate (at least at the time, I visited before the 2015 earthquake) and even thermal springs (which I didn't go to). It's quite cute and you'll be able to see from there that the landscapes still to come are absolutely super!
I must add that I visited Nepal before the 2015 earthquake so it's possible that places have changed a lot since then.
