Located 4 km west of Rodrigues Island, Cocos Island is home to thousands of seabirds. It's a place which is highly prized by lots of tourists, notably those who love nature. The crossing is by boat and it costs between €20 and €50 per person. Generally, operators offer an all-inclusive price with the option of eating and drinking on site.
If there's one thing which grabbed my attention during my trip to Cocos Island, it's the soothing calm there and the way in which the island has been preserved. At low tide, you'll be able to see some coral overhanging the lagoon. Moreover, it's partly for this reason that in winter, boats working as a shuttle between Rodrigues Island and the Ile aux Cocs stop before the main beach. So, visitors have a few metres to cover on foot to reach their destination; a destination which deserves to be discovered for a trip which is in perfect harmony with nature.
