Trou d’Eau Douce is a fishing village located on the eastern side of the island. With the beauty of its little streets, its corrugated iron huts, its beach and, of course, its inhabitants. it is a captivating place. I visited and explored Trou d'Eau douce when I went there with a friend to do some street photography. A small, peaceful village, the main source of activity is provided by the departure and arrival of the little boats that travel to and from Île aux Cerfs.
With Mauritius' beaches each as beautiful as the next, what I really found most delightful about Trou d'Eau were its little streets: a great big church here, a little restaurant terrace there, and above all, the house that looks like something from a game of cards, or like a scene from Alice in Wonderland …
I recommend Trou d’Eau Douce to anyone who loves spending time on the beach or intends to go walking in Mauritius. There is little risk of getting lost: you'll have no trouble finding a local to give you help with directions if you need it at any point.
