Moka (Mauritius)

Located very close to the Mauritian capital, this town tends to be avoided by tourists, who flock instead to the west and south coasts during a trip to Mauritius. With its national university and its shops, in my opinion, you should know that Moka is a destination geared towards the locals rather than travellers.

That said, Moka has Villa Eureka, a beautiful creole home, where you can have something to eat overlooking a very beautiful garden, with its adjacent valley crossed by beautiful running water in its setting of dense vegetation. Those who are slightly adventurous and love heights will be able to walk in the Moka range, consisting of three peaks separating Moka and Port Louis; it's a natural site, not very busy, with a beautiful view over the surrounding areas.
